Andy Butcher has always been a “horseman”, growing up with horses, sitting on his sisters pony before he could walk and riding his own, very naughty Shetland pony as a young child as well as having a very successful Prix St George Dressage rider and her British Airways sponsored PSG horse (both trained with the Late Lord Loch) stabled at his parents yard in Suffolk ignited what was to become a life long passion that made him realise that horses could do amazing things if the training was correct, kind and consistent.
Andy could see there was a difference between training and subduing and that a horse who is happy in his work will give you his everything, but most importantly, willingly, from his heart. These early insights gave him the desire to learn more and he soon progressed to training with top Spanish and Portuguese Classical Dressage/High School Trainers and Rejoneadors, enabling him to learn the traditional schooling methods that have stood the test of time for correctly training a supple, obedient, contented, athletic horse. During his 20's Andy became an Equity Registered Stunt Performer covering many disciplines but essentially, given his passion and ability with horses, inevitably, he decided to specialise in the equestrian side of the business. As Andy's career progressed he did numerous ridden demonstrations including Horse of the Year Show as well as train with a former German Olympic Champion (Showjumping) and a top French Liberty Trainer.
The chance to learn from many great horsemen from around the world has given him the skills to help horse and rider, no matter what they are facing. From basics to Haute Ecole, with more than 30 years experience Andy's honest, open approach can help you and your horse surpass your expectations and achieve your goals.
